In this project, in order to obtain the synthesis method of loramide, the results presented in books and articles were reviewed and by comparing different methods, an attempt was made to optimize the selected method, which ultimately led to the preparation of a better quality product. The chosen method is based on the direct reaction between the fatty acid of <a href=\"https:\/\/taheritrading.com\/?page_id=138\">coconut<\/a> oil and diethanolamine by the Kritchevsky method. The main advantage of this method is not using a catalyst. First, DEA is heated up to the reaction temperature and the fatty acid, which is heated to about 100oC, is added to the reactor in several steps. It is recommended to use a nitrogen atmosphere to prevent the oxidation of the fatty acid and its darkening. The reactor used in the experiments, It is glass and the reaction is done in batch. This reactor is equipped with a mechanical stirrer and a thermometer, and a suitable jacket is used to heat it and reach the reaction temperature. This reaction is exothermic, and temperature control is one of the important points in conducting the reaction, especially in industrial production. Another important point is the molar ratio of DEA to fatty acid. The higher this ratio is, the side reactions will be prevented and the product will be of better quality, so in practice, a molar ratio of 2 to 1 (DEA to FA) is used.
